The vestry of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, Diocese of Long Island, is the legal, canonical (church law), and fiduciary “board of trustees” for the church. Traditionally, and by canon law, the vestry consists of the rector, wardens, and vestry members. It is the legal representative of the parish “in all matters concerning its corporate property and the relations of the Parish to its Clergy “except as may be provided by state law or diocesans canons.
