GEM’s New Web Developer: Robert “Rob” Han
August 15, 2019
On Monday, August 5, GEM was pleased to welcome Robert Han, our new web developer, to the marketing team. Rob has had some impressive career experiences before joining our team, such as project management for Northrop Grumman, a highly respected American defense technology company, and operating a supermarket chain for over 10 years after beginning as a grocery clerk. We asked Rob a few questions that would help us and our clients get to know him better. Check out his answers below!
Q: Tell us about yourself. Where were you were born, where did you go to school? Any interesting past career experiences?
A: I was born in Seoul, South Korea, and my family and I immigrated to the USA when I was only 2 years old. Although I became a naturalized citizen many years later I’ve always felt as if I was born here as I arrived at such a young age. I went to American University in Washington, DC where I got my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration specializing in Enterprise Management and Marketing. One notable moment from this past year was when a tech blog of mine (I was required to write tech blogs during school) was published at a fairly well-known tech website.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
A: I love to stay active, so I enjoy playing sports, especially soccer and golf recently.
And of course, spending quality time with my wife and 4-year-old son.
Q: Where is your favorite place that you’ve traveled?
A: Maui – Having an oceanfront breakfast every morning is amazing.
Dusseldorf, Germany – Quaint little town in Germany I had a chance to visit via their bullet train going over 200 km/h. Really felt like a magical little town that one might read about in a fairytale or a fiction novel.
Q: What are your pet peeves?
A: I am a punctual person, so I dislike those who are late all the time and don’t value my time.
Also, those who don’t clean up after themselves and don’t adhere to common courtesy.
Q: How do you prefer to start and end your day?
A: I enjoy starting my morning by waking up before anyone else and just having a moment to myself and organize my thoughts and to-dos for the day over a cold glass of green tea. I prefer to end my days by making it a priority to set aside all electronics (phone, laptop) at least 30 minutes before bedtime and grab a book or my idea-a-thon book as I like to call it and brainstorm about the next big thing. 🙂
Rob is a well-rounded person inside and outside of GEM, and we look forward to getting to know him further. Feel free to contact him any time!
